Golf Courses
Pyle & Kenfig Golf Course
With its lofty sand dunes hugging the coast of South Wales, Pyle and Kenfig is situated in a wonderful stretch of golfing country and is rated as one of the best golf courses in Wales
Glorious views and historic associations adorn this undulating course with its natural hazard of hillocks, valleys and towering dunes. Panoramic views, The Bristol Channel, the Gower Peninsula, Sker House and the magnificent Welsh Mountains can all be seen from various points.
Pennard Golf Course
Voted 55th out of the top 100 UK Golf Courses, is of outstanding natural beauty. Golf has been played at Pennard since 1896.
The holes are routed over classically undulating and tumbling links land, full of hummocks, hillocks and hollows with dunes large and small, exactly what we might hope to find beside the shore.
Royal Porthcawl Golf Course
Royal Porthcawl was described as being one of the twelve finest courses in the world by the late Tom Scott, a leading writer on golf.
The course has a magnificent setting sloping down to the seashore.
The absence of sand hills usually found on links courses enables the golfer to see the sea from every hole and to enjoy memorable views. With holes facing into every point of the compass, the player is always tested by the wind and will probably need every club in the bag.
Southerndown Golf Course
Founded in 1905, Southerndown is a hidden gem, unique in offering part sandy links and part acid-heathland, among the sheep, and is a true test of golf, where golfers have to manage their game through the natural contours and firm greens, around the gorse and bracken and pot bunkers - and then there is the wind off the sea!
This is golf as it should be.
Tenby golf course
Tenby Golf Club is one of the true gems of Wales’ idyllic south-west coast. Set among a patchwork of rolling green terrain and wild dunes, Tenby boasts a classic links course and a variety of challenges which will test golfers at every level.
It highlights the rolling green landscape of the links that makes Tenby such an enticing and challenging course.
The waters of the Bristol Channel and the strip of beach define the course here, conveying its distinctive “Victorian links” style which is impossible to recreate today
